JF - Strategic Priorities JA - SPR VL - 38 IS - 1 SE - Policy DO - UR - https://niss-priority.com/index.php/journal/article/view/202 AB - In the article it is analyzed the experience of foreign countries and international organizations to counter Russian propaganda and set the current trends in the appointed direction. Such measures now have got incentive and restrictive character in mass media space. In particular, incentive measures may include: opposition to the Russian propaganda «positive» information; launch of the own TV channels in Russian and development and strengthening of the own broadcasting resources; support for the Russian independent media; professional training for the independent journalists in Russia; exposure of the misinformation coming from abroad etc. Restrictive measures may include: stop of the Russian channels relaying or prohibit of some Russian TV programs; introduction of the penalties for repeaters of the information that carry out propaganda of war, incitement to change the constitutional order or encroachment on the sovereignty of the country; refusal to issue licenses to the media have proven to be the journalists providing the information not from their own perspective, but serving the interests of the Russian foreign policy; ban on the entry to the EU for the individual journalists who were actively involved in advocacy efforts in support of the annexation of Crimea by Russia and the Russian military intervention in Ukraine etc. ER -
