Abstract

The article considers the content of Canada’s policy in the field of security and defense, taking into account the strengthening of strategic cooperation with Ukraine. Thematic justification is due to the transformation of Euro-Atlantic security architecture and the need for its rethinking by key international actors in the context of current challenges in the region of the Central and Eastern Europe. As a result of the study, the authors demonstrate further perspectives for approval of Canada as an active international player, interested in the peaceful resolution of conflicts that cause violations of human rights and freedoms and undermine the regional security system. In addition, the article analyses the significance for Ukraine of a multilateral strategic partnership with the Canada, which enables Kyiv to improve its international status and to be heard on the international area.
