Abstract

The main tendencies and nature of changes in natural and man-made emergency situations in the conditions of Ukraine are analyzed. International experience of implementation of the mechanism of disaster risk reduction at the state level and the possibilities of its implementation in Ukraine is researched. An estimation of risk of losses from emergency situations in Ukraine according to the approach applied in the European Union is provided. Priority directions of risk reduction of emergencies of natural and man-made origin for critical infrastructure with large negative consequences for the population and the environment are suggested.
