This article is dedicated to the analysis of external and internal factors, which influence a stability of interethnic relations in Chernivtsi oblast’. Topicality of the research is defined with the necessity to uncover potential threats to ethno-political stability on the border region of Ukraine, which attracts certain attention of some foreign states. The principal goal of the article is to consider key factors of this influence on the development of interethnic relations and underscore the most important peculiarities of interethnic communication between Ukrainians, Romanians and Moldovans in Chernivtsi oblast’. Thus, main directions of the interstate interaction in the format of Ukraine-Romania relations have been analyzed, especially the Euromaidan events’ influence on their development and perspective as well as the dynamic of regional ethno-political situation since 2014 till 2018. Authors applied both qualitative and quantitative methods of a research, i.g. statistical, comparative analyses method and method of case-study. After having the research completed authors come to conclusion, that most influential foreign factors of the ethno-political stability of Chernivtsi region is Romanian and Russian ones. Both of them require careful attention. Still Russian factor as a challenge prevails for now. Its influence delivers via information war against Ukraine and the region under consideration. This multipronged interference is realized with some agents of influence, where some of Moscow Patriarchate clergy play an important role, as well as other devoted supporters of “Russkiy Mir” ideas.

Finally, authors propose to pay careful attention to the peculiarities of the ethnonational policy implementation within the state and a region concerned to central governmental bodies. They urge them to undertake some practical measures, taking into account the very importance of this direction of domestic policy as far as a security of our state is at stake.
