Abstract

The author highlights the advantages of exporting to the EU that may drive economic growth in Ukraine, as well as the risks of national exports structure deterioration in course of deepening Ukraine’s integration into the EU. She reveals the relations between export revenues in Ukraine and world commodity prices; she also estimates the effects of global exchange rates movements and commodity prices fluctuations on commodity exports of Ukraine. Objective impossibility to enhance welfare of Ukraine’s population while maintaining the commodity specialization of the national economy is emphasized. The author confirms and estimates the relations between economic growth rates in the EU and rates of increase of Ukraine’s export to the EU. She draws trade, industrial and financial policies recommendations, targeted at diversification of the national export structure, and obtaining significant economic benefits in the process of Ukraine’s association with the EU.
