INFORMATION OPERATIONS IN THE SYSTEM OF STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION

Abstract

Over the last decade there was institutionalization of strategic communication system as a defense structures reaction on the new security challenges in peacetime. In Ukraine, this system is under development that causes the interest of scientists to the question on its individual components relations. The article deals with the relations of such communicative as public diplomacy, public affairs, military public affairs, information operations, psychological operations within the strategic communications system of security and defense sector; the place and the role of information operations in the system are defined by analyzing the key characteristics of its elements. It is argued that the separate functioning of these communicative disciplines without taking into account the national strategy are not only ineffective, but may harm national security and lead it to losses.
